Pool sun shelf products

Make the sun shelf the best seat in the pool.

ShelfLab is exploring three premium pool concepts designed to make sun shelves more useful, social, and fun: Surf Shelf, Toss Shelf, and Score Shelf. Many pools already have umbrella sleeves built in, and a lot of them go unused. We’re testing whether that simple slot can become something better — a place for drinks, games, and easy poolside fun.

Surf ShelfA larger table surface for drinks, phone, snacks, sunscreen, and pool lounging.
Toss ShelfDisc golf plus bucket toss built for shallow-water pool play.
Score ShelfRing swing plus football and basketball toss for bigger pool-game energy.

Three product bets.

The MVP is built to validate demand first. The sleeve/base engineering can be solved later; the bigger question is which product people understand, want, and would pay for.

The real question

Which product earns the first prototype?

We are not trying to over-prove the mounting system on the homepage. This version is meant to answer a cleaner demand question: would people rather buy the table, the toss game, the score game, or a bundle?

Primary signalWhich product gets the most votes and strongest comments?
Price signalCan Surf Shelf clear a realistic premium price point?
Use-case signalDo people want relaxing utility, family games, or party games?

Prototype roadmap

Build in the order that gets the most learning with the least wasted time and money.

1

Validate demand

Share the page and form. Look for the product people immediately understand and say they would buy.

2

Measure real pools

Collect sun shelf depth, sleeve diameter, sleeve depth, and photos from interested pool owners.

3

Build Surf Shelf v0

Start with the table if demand is strong. It is the clearest product to test in your own pool first.

4

Prototype games

Use form results to decide whether Toss Shelf or Score Shelf deserves the next physical build.

What we need to prove

This site is a demand test before it is a manufacturing plan.

  • Do pool owners understand the product lineup quickly?
  • Which product gets the most “I’d buy that” reactions?
  • Does Surf Shelf feel useful enough to pay for?
  • Do Toss Shelf and Score Shelf feel fun or like too much equipment?
  • How many people are willing to share pool measurements or test a prototype?
